Team India claimed its first victory in the tournament by defeating Afghanistan in a one-sided match. After the match, the hashtag #MatchFixed was globally trending on Twitter. Some Indian journalists alleged that some typical Pakistani fans are behind these hashtags while some experts blamed Pakistan for propagating the Indian victory.

Earlier, India lost to Pakistan and New Zealand by a great margin and is almost out of the tournament. The match played between India and Afghanistan kept Indian hope for the semi-finals alive. Afghanistan fought well against Pakistan in the previous match when Asif Ali's crucial innings helped Pakistan win the match with 6 balls remaining.
Match Fixing is a trending topic in the international media now. It is not the first time when team India was bashed for using money and politics in cricket. In the 2019 World Cup, India knowingly lost its last match against England in the first round so that Pakistan could not qualify for the semis. Later, an English player confirmed it in his autobiography.
In the previous match, Afghanistan's former Captain and main player "Asghar Afghan" announced his retirement from the tournament. His retirement has raised many questions after Afghanistan's defeat against India.
