Shaheen, Babar, and Rizwan brilliance not only won the match for Pakistan but also made history by breaking India's decades-long streak of remaining unbeaten against its arch-rival  Pakistan.

On Sunday 24th October, the Pakistan team registered a historical win by defeating India by ten wickets. Pakistani captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi eliminated their opening pair in his first two overs. Skipper Virat Kohli carried out a 50 plus run partnership with Pant which made India survive for 20 years. India ended its innings with a defendable total of 151. Virat Kohli remained the top scorer with 57 runs of 49 balls.

While chasing the target, Pakistani openers did brilliantly well. Both Babar and Rizwan remained unbeaten, scoring quick fifties. It was the fourth time in 2021 when Babar and Rizwan had 100 runs T20I partnership. They had also recorded 150 runs partnership for the third time in 2021. Previously, they stood unbeaten and scored 197 runs against South Africa in South Africa and 150 against England in England.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was awarded the man of the match award due to brilliant bowling with the new ball and death overs as well. He managed to take down Indian top orders including Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

It is the first time in cricket history when Pakistan beat India in the World Cup. India remained unbeaten 12 times in the 50-overs World Cup and 5 times in the T20I World Cup. It is also the first time when Pakistan won any match by 10 wickets and India lost by 10 wickets for the first time as well. With so many records, Pakistan started its world cup with worldwide appreciation.
